Inspired by the journey of her parents emigrating from Mexico to the United States, Michelle knew from a young age that she wanted to become an immigration attorney so that she could help others realize their very own American dream. Growing up in El Paso, Texas, she saw firsthand the power of citizenship, the empowering strength of compassionate leaders, and a rich community that benefitted from a diverse culture that she was proud to be a part of.
In 2007, Michelle and her chihuahua Pepper left the desert for the beach and moved to San Diego so she could pursue her dream of obtaining a law degree. After graduating from law school, Michelle spent time interning at nonprofits using her knowledge of the law to educate and empower the local community. Today as the Senior Attorney at the law firm, San Diego Immigration Attorneys, Michelle’s knowledge of the law and her leadership skills have been instrumental to the firm’s success. Her role is to fight for her clients rights before Immigration Courts and with USCIS. With many successful approvals and satisfied clients, Michelle is now excited to return to her hometown and lead the firm’s expansion into Texas, where it all began.
A major part of immigration legal work are the many deadlines and late nights working to prepare clients. Even though Michelle puts in long hours, she really knows how to enjoy life. In San Diego that meant strolling through Balboa Park with Pepper, small music venues – and engaging her passion for fashion and music. If you want a hometown girl, Michelle brings the experience of a life immersed in immigration and the real-life experience you need to represent you.
