Top 3 Questions | H1B Transfer
Hey everybody, I get a lot of questions about H1B transfers. These are the top three questions that I get asked about filing H1B transfers. Number one is: “Do I have to tell my employer when I file my transfer?” The answer to that question is no. The employer does not need to be informed, you’re going to have to tell your employer when you quit, or whenever you like, but you can file a transfer without talking to your current employer. Next question I get asked is: “When can I start working when I file my H1B transfer?” Great question, and the answer that is you can start working as soon as you file the new case. By law you get 240 days at the new employer. The last question, really common question I get asked is: “What if I change my mind? Can I stay at my current company?” The answer to that question is yes you can. In fact, I’ve had people, not even move at all and stay at the first place without taking the transfer.
Hope that helps.
Take care.
